As a part of the Indian Ocean Craft Triennial, this exhibition features large-scale textile artworks responding to the idea of sustainability across not only the environment and its flora and fauna, but also the sustainability of communities and traditions. It Includes work from artists who repurpose found materials as textile/sculptural art materials; artists who use ancient techniques to express issues of contemporary concern, artists who engage with communities, sustaining their work and traditions of art making and; artists who observe the land as a way to understand change. The selected artists range from Western and Northern Australia, to India, Indonesia and Malaysia.
Artists: Maggie Baxter (WA), Dias Prabu (Indonesia), Lisa Mori (WA), Morii Design (India), Yin Yem Sum (Malaysia) and textile works from Ramingining and Ernabella.
