Celebrating nearly 20 years, the artists from the Robertson Park Artists Studio will exhibit paintings, sculptures and jewellery in “Decompression”.

Event 1: Exhibition Opening
The Opening Night is 6 to 8pm, Friday November 22 and will be formally opened by Emma Cole, City of Vincent Mayor. The keynote speaker is Lee Kinsella, Special Projects Curator at the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery, UWA. Music will be performed by well-known Perth Chamber Group, Dolce Ensembles.

The Opening Night is a great opportunity for the public to see the artwork, meet and talk with the artists, learn a little more about them and the studio, and meet the local and wider art community.

The exhibition title “Decompression” is a reference to the physical and artistic experience of bringing art from the small and very crowded Robertson Park Artists Studio into the much larger Holmes à Court Gallery @ no.10.

The exhibiting artists are Frances Dennis, Graham Hay, Bethamy Linton, Sarah Jane Marchant, Christopher McClelland and Carol Rowling. The style of art ranges from painting and drawing, through to jewellery and sculpture. The quality of the artists is indicated by a number of works already included in the West Australian and South Australian State Galleries, other well known public collections and a large number of solo exhibitions and group shows across a dozen countries. Many textbooks and art journals also feature their work.
