This residency opens with an exhibition of work already realised. The artist’s shell collection was the trigger. In her own words: Some of the works do more than simply celebrate shells wondrous and diverse shapes and patterns. The paintings, in their final assembly, reveal other explorations. During the residency we will have the opportunity of watching her process unfold and reveal as she takes up her brush mid-stream in the exploration of a new series of work. There will be opportunity for conversation and enquiry with Lesley and the chance to socialise and talk art with the artist and interested others at one of four Sunday lunches.
Enquires are welcome from secondary and tertiary student groups for tutorials with this experienced and versatile artist, designer and teacher. Lesley Meaney will be in the gallery on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
