Ron Nyisztor ARTIST TALK @ no.10
18 April @ 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm
Join us for an insightful discussion with Ron Nyisztor around the works in his exhibition Hope Valley Road : an Autobiography
This project refers to the deserted neighbourhood as motivation for a visual autobiography, an alternative, extreme self-portrait. A likeness that is comprised from the depiction of motor vehicles associated with his journey, stalled vestiges, trained on any other horizon.
The artist grew up in this locality and considers the romantic connotations of the road’s namesake to be at odds with its aquired bleakness. Although the locality presents many conflicting sentiments, it has been referential, providing inspiration throughout the artist’s career.
If you’re wanting to hear more from the artist, as he unpacks how an exhibition of vehicle depictions, intriguing names and an overall unique idea of a ‘self-portrait’ encompasses who Ron Nyisztor is; then this is the perfect event for you!
