SUMMARY:Opening: Hope Valley Road – an autobiography by Ron Nyisztor @ Vasse Felix
DESCRIPTION:After its debut @ no.10\, Hope Valley Road – an autobiography by Ron Nyisztor hits the road and travels to Vasse Felix. \n\n\n\nThis is an exhibition of Ron Nyisztor’s most recent project. Hope Valley Road once traversed the Kwinana industrial and Wattleup areas toward Mandogalup. In former times it ran from the coast through Banksia bush land\, semi-rural properties and market gardens.  \n\n\n\nPresent day Hope Valley Road is a detoured and restricted non-thoroughfare. The picturesque properties were vacated years ago; it seems their proximity to industrial plumes became highlighted and re-zoning was implemented.  \n\n\n\nThe artist grew up in this locality and considers the romantic connotations of the road’s namesake to be at odds with its bleakness. Although the locality presents many conflicting sentiments\, it has often been referential and provided an inspirational backdrop throughout the artist’s career.  \n\n\n\nThis project refers to the deserted neighbourhood as motivation for a visual autobiography. It’s an alternative\, extreme self-portrait; a likeness that is comprised from the depiction of motor vehicles associated with his journey. Stalled vestiges trained on any other horizon; each remnant having acquired status in the subject’s psyche serves to illustrate intimate exposés and confidential experiences.  \n\n\n\nFor exhibition enquiries\, sales\, interviews\, further information and images available for reproduction\, contact : hacgallery@heytesbury.com.au | P. +61 8 6217 2640 \n\n\n\nTo be officially opened by Janet Holmes à Court AC  \n\n\n\n11.00am  |   Sunday\, 5th July 2026 \n\n\n\nOnly light refreshments will be served during the formal opening in the Gallery. \n\n\n\nTo book for lunch separately\, contact Vasse Felix :  P.  9756 5050 or email  restaurant@vassefelix.com.au \n\n\n\n#FREE\n\n\n\nNOTE: TICKET PRINTOUT NOT REQUIRED\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nRSVP
